Main Highlights

AFBE-UK Leadership Team

I volunteer on the Executive Board of the Scottish Branch of the Association for Black and Ethnic Minority Engineers UK (AFEB-UK), within the Leadership Programme team. The team's primary focus is to increase the representation of Black people within Senior management positions within corporate organisations by equipping them with the right information, network and tools.

As part of this, I co-host sessions in conversations with Senior Leaders from different companies to members of AFBE. I also curated a module focused on identifying and reversing limiting behaviours from the context of ethnic minorities, as part of the development of a Leadership course, Transcend by AFBE for roll out to corporate organisations.

Early Careers Development

I am passionate about early careers development and over the past few years, I have supported students, particularly International Students with preparing for job applications and interviews. Through, various organisations like STEM Ambassadors UK and Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE), I have ran CV clinics, mock job assessments and interviews for University students at various stages of their degrees.

In my final year of University, I sat on the judging panel of the National Undergraduate Employability Awards organised by RateMyPlacement as the only student judge.

I have also given employability talks to several groups at various events including Universities' Careers Advisors and University students.

I started The Career Aisle in 2020 to provide university students and early careers professionals with 1-1 careers advice and guidance with CVs/Resumés, job applications completion,  assessments  and interviews.
